Dynastar M-Line: A new line for freedom

Dynastar has "disposed" of its existing "Legend" (freeride) and "Mythic" (touring) lines this winter, launching the new M-Line with new freeride and touring models that have gone up another notch.

Dynastar is an old hand in the freeride ski business. For decades, the French ski manufacturer has been designing top models for the world's best pro-fi freeriders, who compete in events such as the Freeride World-tour on the world's steepest slopes with daredevil lines and jumps. If the previous model lines were called "Cham" or "Legend" (until last winter) or "Mythic" in the touring segment, this winter Dynastar is uniting various ski segments under one roof under the new "M-Line": progressive freeriding, freeriding, backcountry ski touring and classic ski touring.

M-Free, M-Pro, M-Tour and M-Vertical are the names of the new line segments, whereby in addition to the 7 models for men, two M-Pro W models for women have also been created, which are also new to the market. Not only the shapes of the models have changed significantly, but also the dimensions and the materials used.

Hybrid ski cores
One of the peculiarities of the new line, is the use of modern hybrid cores developed by Dynastar, consisting of a mixture of wood species with polyurethane (PU). The advantage of polyurethane (PU) is its light weight. The use of the material leads to the reduction of the total weight of the ski. In addition, polyurethane (PU) absorbs vibrations and thus increases the comfort of skiing. So you kill two birds with one stone with this new ski core technology

From basalt, paulownia and co.
If one sets with the Freeridemo-dellen on a mixture of PU with the elastic and resistant poplar wood must come with the touring skis of course lighter materials. Dynastar uses in the new touring models of the M-Line on the one hand the well-known light Paulownia wood and on the other hand the light basalt fiber, which is lighter than glass fiber and also dampens very well.

M-Free
The designation "Free" here is spot on. These are the widest models (108 and 118 mm center width) from Dynastar and these are designed for extreme demands in powder. Nothing for beginners, but for deep snow cracks who have to master the steepest slopes and dangerous jumps with ease. It is clear that such skis also need a correspondingly strong rocker (upturn) in the back and front. The existing progressive tip/tail rocker offers the best float and landing properties here.

M-Pro, M-Pro W
The M-Pro models are designed to be much sportier and are aimed at freeride and all-mountain skiers who also plan to use them on the slopes. With medium widths between 90-105 mm, you are well equipped in deep snow on the one hand, on the other hand, the use on the slopes is no problem. The rocker of these models is not quite as strong as the M-Free models, but that is not necessary. Landings forward and backward and a suitable float up in deep snow are guaranteed at all times, which is what the Directional Tip / Tail Rocker stands for.

M-Tour, M-Vertical
The new Tpouren models enrich the touring segment of Dynastar. Here, the model "M-Tour" is aimed at backcountry enthusiasts, which thanks to its generous center width ensures that deep snow slopes become a freeride adventure after it has climbed. The "M-Vertical" model is aimed at classic ski tourers and impressively expands the "Vertical" touring range. Unlike its "brothers", it relies not on fiberglass but on basalt fibers. The effect is clear: although the M-Vertical is significantly wider than the other two Vertical models, it is exactly the same weight or even lighter than the existing touring models. The further development with basalt has therefore been completely worthwhile.

With the new M-Line, Dynastar has once again succeeded in taking an important step in the development of touring and freeride skis. Nine different models, including two for extreme freeriders, five for skiers who want to switch between freeride off-piste and on-piste, and two outstanding new touring models greatly enrich the range of the French ski manufacturer. Those interested in skiing days off (but also on) the slopes will find what they are looking for in Dynastar's new M-Line.
