Wimbledon 2015: Wawrinka moves confidently into the quarterfinals

In contrast to his early matches, Stanislas Wawrinka showed a solid and confident performance in his match against Belgian David Goffin. Even though he had to fight hard today, he defeated Goffin in just three sets. Although he didn't always feel good, as he said after the match, his confidence showed especially in the last set. Goffin managed to take his service game away from Wawrinka and take a 4-2 lead in the third set. The Swiss cut it to 4:3 with his next service game, then broke Goffin and rallied to 4:4, pushing his service game to 5:4 and taking the set 6:4 and the match by repeatedly breaking Goffin with some really impressive passing shots. When the chips are down, Warinka can really step it up today and put his opponent in his place. Goffin really had no chance against the Swiss, even though he played well. In the end, he was facing a Grand Slam winner. With 7:6, 7:6 and 6:4 Wawrinka moves into the quarterfinals and will meet the Frenchman Richard Gasquet there.
