The Grand Prix in Silverstone provided variety and excitement in the Formula 1 circus when, to the surprise of spectators and experts, the Williams took the lead at the start ahead of the Mercedes. That was supposed to be exciting. The Williams, which are equipped with Mercedes engines, have the same power, but had probably struggled with the aerodynamics so far. Other teams were all the more unlucky: the two Lotus and the two McLaren had collided with each other. After a brief safety period, Massa, who was in the lead, was able to restart, but obviously he wasn't able to pull away; his teammate Bottas tried to overtake him because of this, but it was never enough. A real battle broke out between team spirit and stubbornness. Massa didn't want to simply let his teammate pass, but was de facto slower on the road. That's why the Mercedes drivers were able to stay close to the Williams and on lap 20 the time had come: Hamilton was able to take the lead after the first pit stop, how annoying for Williams. Basis for anger and talking points was now created. If Hamilton had lacked a team strategy on the part of Wiiliams, he lacked the necessary grip on laps 39 and 41 respectively, which is why Nico Rosberg was able to easily pass the two Williams as the rain set in and settle in behind Hamilton, who was on his way to victory. Behind them, Ferrari, Force India and Red Bull were battling for podium and points. In the end, the usual suspects were at the top, Hamilton, Rosberg and Vettel, deservedly so it must be said. Hülkenberg also drove a strong race, moving up to 7th place, as did Daniil Kviat, who took 6th place. Alonso also managed to score a championship point for the first time, things are looking up at Honda. All in all, a really exciting race in which, with a little more tactics, the winners could have been called something else this time. Next race, next chance!
