Serfaus: "Biking is the skiing of the summer".

With this motto the region Serfaus lures on its homepage. As an enthusiastic skier as well as cyclist, this is of course exactly the advertising slogan to lure me with, and of course with the unique landscape that this famous Tyrolean mountain region has to offer. You know it from pictures: lovely, rustic mountain villages, blue skies, lush green meadows, framed by high alpine scenery and magnificent forests that send a pleasant tingle through the legs of every mountain biker. Tomorrow it's off to the Tirol and I'm full of joyful anticipation for a bike weekend with lots of adrenaline and new discoveries.

Already on arrival in Serfaus I am greeted by the best mountain bike weather and increases my anticipation of the first ride many times over. A sign I passed also caught my attention: "Bikepark Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis". That sounds like fun and exactly the challenges that bikers are looking for. I'll definitely have to take a closer look at the park over the next few days. But first of all, it's off to my hotel. I have booked a room at the Mountain Bike Holidays Hotel "Lifehotel for active connoisseurs". I can also identify well with this: "Be active", that's the plan, and "enjoy" I've always been able to do quite well.

The hotel offers a pleasant mix of modern elegance and homey atmosphere, I feel immediately comfortable and as a mountain biker very well taken care of especially thanks to the numerous, special services that the hotel has to offer bikers. On request, I am also immediately made some tour suggestions in the nearby area, tailored to my ability and my ideas, of course.
From what I've seen and heard, Serfaus is also a great bike region, if you are traveling with children or with family. Even if I would have loved to jump immediately despite dusk on my bike to explore the honorable Tyrolean soil on studded tires, I decide then but to put the personal Bike Challenge weekend plan only tomorrow into action. How I will probably succeed in all this?

Off to the Möseralm tour
After a fine breakfast and equipped with the interactive map for possible (Verw-)Irrungen, I set off early the next day to the Möseralm tour recommended to me - a "medium" tour suitable for my "medium" MTB skills. Already on the first meters one is here as a mountain biker completely in his element. The magnificent mountain peaks all around and the natural soil under the studded tires let you really soak up the unique alpine atmosphere that this region has to offer. Climbs for the "calves" and the inner pig dog followed by descents for the final downhill kick. Wonderful! I have actually landed in an absolute mountain bike El Dorado. It could not be better! Another refreshing drink at the Möseralm and enjoy the breathtaking panorama, once briefly looked into the sun to "fill up" a bit of color and then it's already further along the single trail back towards Serfaus. The tour is 20 kilometers long and you have to overcome almost 500 meters of altitude, which is already neat in the legs. And to regenerate them as well as possible (because tomorrow I want to ride a few bike park trails), I treat myself to a round of wellness at the hotel. Sauna, massage - because the battered calves are happy!

Bike park & trails are already waiting
The next day, the announced bike park is on the program. I'm a bit nervous, because it's not something you do every day. And cool bike parks are often associated with 20-year-old (semi-)professionals who routinely and courageously plunge into the depths on two wheels. But of course it's not all that bad. The bike park is very well divided into different areas, something for everyone. For example, there is a training area for beginners to familiarize themselves with the sports equipment, but also a Kids Park is waiting to be discovered by the future MTB professionals.

The forest railroad takes me and my bike comfortably to the start of the trails, where - similar to what I know from skiing - descents of all levels of difficulty are available, which are color-coded: Blue stands for easy descents, red for moderately difficult routes and black for trails that are more for professionals. Black? Hm ... not today. I give myself three hours of Bike Park Challenge: exhausting, but fun without end. Afterwards, cool drinks and tasty snacks await hungry bikers like me in the chill area. I enjoy the delicacies served up to me and mentally review the great MTB weekend. It couldn't have been better... could it? Hm..., maybe so... something comes to mind: Maybe in pairs? Or in threes? Serfaus, you'll see me again! And then with friends in tow! See you!
