Davos Parsenn: Best piste conditions despite lack of snow

Unfortunately, history repeats itself to the chagrin of all winter tourism: there is a massive lack of snow around Christmas. It is simply too warm. With temperatures around 8-12 degrees Celsius, not only do many not think about skiing or winter vacations, above all there is no snow to be seen far and wide. The entire ski industry is suffering from the massive lack of snow. You have to look hard to find regions with enough snow. We decided to take a trip to Davos over the holidays.

Excellent slope preparation in Davos
Given the lack of snow, it is almost a miracle what wonderful piste conditions we found on the Parsenn in Davos, simply fantastic. At this point, we must pay a big compliment to the team in Davos responsible for preparing the slopes. They did a top job so that we skiers could have a great skiing experience. Especially from the top station to the middle station, the snow conditions were excellent, even if one side was closed. The downhill from the mid station was still very good, even though the snow became more and more slushy the closer you got to the valley. Considering that it is a black marked slope with various steep slopes, the descent was then very demanding, which slightly overtaxed some snowboarders and male or female skiers. From Parsenn, we could easily see that Jakobshorn also had good snow conditions, which could be our choice for another trip.

If you want to go skiing at the moment, you have to concentrate on high-altitude regions or simply do your research well. Besides Davos, the Engadine can also offer snow. On the Glacier 3000, in Saas-Fee or Sölden, glaciers ensure snow reliability. But at the moment the picture seems bizarre, when even at high altitudes there is relatively little snow. No reason to forego skiing fun.
