A new cooperation between the manufacturer X-Technology Swiss research & development AG and the importer and wholesaler Fuchs-Movesa AG is taking place on the Swiss market. Both expect this to boost sales.

If I remember correctly, the collaboration between the X-Bionic brand and Fuchs-Movesa is not entirely new either. The importer from Aargau, which is particularly at home in cycling, has already been involved in the successful distribution of the brand. Originally, the X-Bionic and X-Socks brands were developed by the Italian company Trerè Innovation which also produces the successful UYN brand. But in the wake of the pandemic, there was probably some restructuring. X-Bionic had probably been struggling for some time, because the compression clothing concept launched around 10-15 years ago, which became known worldwide mainly through the Australian brand Skins and which was supposed to lead to performance improvements, was probably never able to achieve the desired sales and market share. Now, the decline in sales presumably caused by the pandemic has led to a restructuring.

The two companies write in their media release in this regard:

Swissness to the power of 3: The two Swiss companies X-Technology and Fuchs-Movesa are now working together for Swiss sports with a hybrid distribution model.
Wollerau, October 18, 2022 - A new era in sports distribution has kicked off with the joining of forces of the two Swiss companies X-Technology and Fuchs-Movesa. Leading Swiss performance wear manufacturer X-Technology has gained momentum since the change of ownership at the end of 2021 and is pleased to announce that it will be working with Fuchs-Movesa, a renowned distribution partner and logistics expert in the Swiss sports industry, from November 1, 2022. The benefits of the new partnership are expected to pay off quickly for Swiss retailers, all the more so as the duo can count on the support of Swiss-Ski and its top athletes Marco Odermatt and Wendy Holdener.

A promising partnership and a strong story for Swiss sports retailing
With its brands X-Bionic and X-Socks, the leading Swiss manufacturer of high-performance wear X-Technology has been at the forefront of textile technology and innovation expertise among professional and amateur athletes for more than 20 years. X-Technology is the energizer brand when it comes to performance-enhancing functional underwear. The 800 patent applications, 600 awards and 1,120 medals at international championships speak for themselves. With the change of ownership in November 2021, the establishment of a new management team and significant investments in the company, X-Technology is once again on the road to success. And it is precisely these success factors that the new partner Fuchs-Movesa is also relying on.

The cooperation with the renowned distribution and logistics expert of the Swiss sports industry Fuchs-Movesa is also a perfect partnership for X-Technology. The fact that Fuchs-Movesa has a highly automated logistics center in addition to its excellent trading and service expertise makes the match perfect for X-Technology.
The cooperation will start on November 1, 2022. The X-Socks brand will be integrated from January 2023, until then it will be distributed as usual via LOWA Schuhe AG. The logistical needs of the X-Bionic brand will also be integrated from January 2023.

The hybrid distribution model: a clear win-win for Swiss sports retailers
By implementing an innovative, hybrid distribution model, the two companies are actively shaping the future of the Swiss sports industry. The aim of the collaboration is to optimize operational processes, interfaces and brand management along the entire value chain in terms of quality and efficiency for retailers.
In terms of logistics expertise, the partners focus on high availability of goods, rapid delivery (within 24 hours), a largely automated warehouse, and the establishment and maintenance of important interfaces with all Swiss trading partners. In this area, Fuchs-Movesa is clearly in the lead and X-Technology plays a supporting role.
In contrast to conventional distribution models, X-Technology remains in the lead with regard to brand management. This means that X-Technology is and remains responsible for the brand presence, provides marketing budgets for selected customers, plans, maintains and monitors the brand presence of national marketing campaigns. Fuchs-Movesa provides active support here and is responsible for actively maintaining key account customers and implementing the distribution concept.

The CEO of X-Technology, Maximilian Lenk states enthusiastically: "I have known and appreciated Fuchs-Movesa for many years as one of the best distribution partners in the Swiss sporting goods market. I am all the more pleased that we are now starting a successful future together with our unique partnership. We will join forces and deliver quality and brand experience at the highest level to Swiss retailers and our community of sports enthusiasts. Thanks to our partnership with Swiss-Ski, currently the strongest ski team in the world with popular figures like Marco Odermatt and Wendy Holdener, we will all benefit from a strong perception of our brands in Switzerland."

Aleksandra Mathieu, Division Manager Softgoods at Fuchs-Movesa, is delighted: "The partnership with X-Technology means more to us than just a normal collaboration. A unique Swiss set-up, consisting of brand management and excellent service, lets both parties do what they do best. The combined forces will put customer success at the center. Our team is highly motivated and proud to represent X-Bionic and X-Socks, two brands with such high innovative power in the Swiss market. We are looking forward to the future together."
