The German ski brand Indigo has revived

The German ski brand Indigo has always stood for luxury and exclusivity. When the brand went bankrupt in 2020, it disappeared from the market. It was brought back to life when it was purchased by the Austrian ski brand Head. Now she is back with great skis and accessories.

Sportguide has been writing about skis since 2006. Since 2007, our specialist and lifestyle magazine has repeatedly published extensive articles about luxury skis and unique ski brands. A large article on the subject of luxury skis already appeared in the Winter Edition 2007. Since then we have been writing about the Indigo ski brand again and again. Many well-known articles such as “1001 handmade Skis” in 2015 or “1002 handmade skis” from 2019 took our readers into the exciting world of small and lesser-known ski brands. And as small as the brands are, the market is difficult for them. This is shown once again by the recently announced bankruptcy of the ski brand “Original+“. The ski brand Indigo was hit just as hard in 2020 The ski brand Bogner also produced and sold. With the takeover of Indigo by the ski brand Head, which obviously saw this as an opportunity to upgrade its own portfolio, the Bavarian brand is coming back onto the market and shining like never before.

The collaboration with the world-famous health resort of St. Moritz in the sunny Engadine, which is itself an international brand, existed before the Bavarian ski brand went bankrupt. Now it seems as if the guys from Bavaria are throwing everything into the balance to make the skis even sexier and more exclusive than they used to be. In particular the two “St. Moritz” models from Indigo really score points in terms of design. In keeping with their exclusive appearance, the prices are at the increased level of around 2500 euros. Indigo writes about the collaboration with St. Moritz and the new skis:

The premium ski label INDIGO and the world-famous ski destination St. Moritz are entering the 23/24 season together. The Munich ski manufacturer has specially developed a collection of selected licensed products that feature special co-branding. “INDIGO and St. Moritz share a common passion: We stand for tradition, quality and exclusivity. These values are also the benchmark for the development of the new licensed products,” explains Thorsten Schwabe, Vice President of INDIGO.

Skis, ski helmets and ski goggles as well as the new VOGGLE are being further developed in a special edition. There is also a subtle
co-branding INDIGO X St. Moritz.

“We work with oversized lettering that dissolves graphically. Our demanding customers value quality in detail and exclusivity,” continued Gregor Baer, Vice President of INDIGO. With high-end technology, high-quality materials and the experience of more than 30 years of manufacturing, state-of-the-art sports equipment is created in keeping with the St. Moritz motto “Top of the World”. The DNA of the world-famous ski resort can be found in the new developments - with respect for history and at the same time the demand for the best quality.

INDIGO Ski St. Moritz [VT4]: Special Edition - Selective and high quality
The marketing of the new ski products is to take place in the region around St. Moritz, with the innovative traditional company Skiservice Corvatsch being able to act as one Partners are acquired - at the same time, international sales structures are used to make both brands even better known to an exclusive target group.

INDIGO is a license partner of St. Moritz in the area of ski equipment. The ski from the Munich manufacturer has a carbon surface with oversized lettering and inlays made of real bamboo - the inlays give an idea of the cooperation with the winter sports resort. The developers at INDIGO worked with local ski guides to fine-tune the flex of this first-class piste ski. The result: playful turning ability with exceptional edge grip even at high speeds.

The high-tech carbon surface with inlays made of natural bamboo as an overlying St. Moritz lettering gives the ski a puristic, sporty look, which suggests the noble cooperation with the alpine holiday resort. The Titanal inlay of the St. Moritz sun discreetly refers to perhaps the most famous holiday resort in the world.

Sportguide wishes the ski brand Indigo much success with its new products. Even though Indigo's luxurious skis and winter accessories are generally aimed at a well-heeled clientele, the attractive items are also something that appeals to ski lovers. By the way, it should be mentioned that Indigo also produces exclusive snowboards.
