Until now, the Italian brand Scicon was known for manufacturing and marketing bicycle cases, cases for whole bikes or for individual parts such as wheels, handlebars, etc.. In addition, there is also a clothing line. Recently, Scicon now also enters the market as a sunglasses provider with a sports and a leisure line.
SCN-XT lenses
In collaboration with Essilor® Sun Solution™ - experts in the design and manufacture of high quality lenses - the new sunglasses have been created. SCICON® Sports sunglasses are equipped with SCN-XT lenses. SCN-XT lenses from the house Essilor® Sun Solution become from NXT® (trademark of Essilor® Italia), a special polymer originally developed in the 1990s for combat helicopter windshields.
This is the starting point of the new SCICON eyewear series with photochromic properties and fast kinetics to ensure the best possible visibility, optimum clarity, light weight, high impact resistance, chemical resistance and 100% UV protection in all conditions. SCICON SXN-XT lenses are available in four different colors. Red, Silver, Bronze and Blue; each optimized for specific lighting conditions.
Aerotech or Aerocomfort
The Performance line, consisting of the two models of glasses, Aerotech and Aerocomfort, offers a choice between two lens sizes, standard and XL. The Aerotech sports sunglasses have a single interchangeable and photochromic SCN-XT mono lens, while the Aerocomfort model has two interchangeable lenses. All models in this series are entirely handmade in Italy.
Glasses frame
The high-performance package of the new SCICON eyewear series consists of high-quality lenses that provide optimal protection and clarity, and a head-shape adjustable, allergy-free, highly resistant Grilamid TR90 frame. Power Ergo Design by ASG Bike Science, synonymous with high-performance SCICON products, highlights innovative ergonomics with Flexi-Fit temples and three different interchangeable double-click nose pads that provide the perfect fit for every face. Combined with two interchangeable temples (Sprint or Regular) for added protection, the SCICON Aerotech & Aerocomfort sports sunglasses offer up to 30 different combinations to customize the sunglasses to the user, without considering the different choices of lenses.
