Longines extends partnership with FIS for 5 years

Longines, the official partner and timekeeper of the International Ski Federation (FIS) since 2006, is pleased to announce the signing of a long-term partnership extension that will now run through the 2025/2026 season. Under the agreement, the Swiss watch brand will provide advanced timekeeping and data processing services for the entire FIS Alpine Ski World Cup and FIS Alpine Ski World Championships in 2023 and 2025.

As the official partner and timekeeper of the International Ski Federation (FIS) since 2006, Longines has a long history of technical expertise in this field, dating back to 1924, when the brand kept time at military races in its hometown of Saint-Imier, Switzerland. Today, the brand plays a central role in the development of innovative technologies for timing and recording athletes' performances at the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships and the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup.

Longines CEO Matthias Breschan said: "Longines is delighted to renew its partnership with the International Ski Federation. Alpine skiing has been part of our brand's history since 1924 and we look forward to continuing our active role in the development of the sport in the years to come. We are also proud to have in the Longines family some of the best skiers: Mikaela Shiffrin, Marco Odermatt, Loïc and Mélanie Meillard and Clément Noël. They are the embodiment of Longines' sporting principles - precision and determination on the slopes with engaging personalities that represent the elegance of the brand."

FIS Director Philippe Geisbühler said: "FIS is delighted that the partnership between Longines and the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup will continue for another five years. We have a long history with Longines and it is great to continue the partnership with Longines. This new agreement represents significant value for FIS and all FIS Alpine Ski World Cup organizers." Around 80 competitions are held annually around the world on the men's and women's World Cup tours, requiring an experienced global partner that, like Longines, is capable of handling this daunting task.

Longines is not only the official timekeeper of the FIS, Longines is actively involved in promoting the next generation of alpine ski racers. Longines and the FIS award the Longines Rising Ski Stars prize at the end of the season to female ski racers under the age of 21 and male ski racers under the age of 23 who participate in the World Cup.
