Shortly after the end of the winter season 2017/18 at Flumserberg, local bike pro René Wildhaber presents his BikerSchool Flumserberg and its offers at the BikerBerg Flumserberg. Bike camps for kids during the summer and autumn vacations as well as private lessons for beginners to experts. With competent tips and tricks, the fun factor is increased individually for each level.
For more than 20 years, René Wildhaber traveled the world to participate in mountain bike races as well as photo and film trips and was able to win races on every continent. René Wildhaber celebrated his greatest successes in long-distance downhill races, such as the Mégavalanche in Alpe d'Huez, which he won six times. He also stood on the podium several times in the Enduro World Series. With the development of the mountain bike offer at Flumserberg, a long-cherished dream came true. He actively worked in the project group "BikerBerg Flumserberg" and was on hand to advise from the start of the project in 2013. The opening of the RedFox and RedRock BikerTrails last summer was his personal highlight. In the future, René Wildhaber will again be found more often on the Flumserberg. He is launching the BikerSchool Flumserberg this summer. René personally or trained bike guides will teach riding techniques for mountain bikers and e-bikers. From the basic position to cornering technique, the right braking, bunny hop to stylish jumps, the needs of the bikers will be individually addressed.
BikerFüchse Camps - for young people from 11 to 16 years old
Six years ago René started his personal youth development program "Wildi's Füchse". In each case 8 to 10 selected bike talents were invited to the camp and could improve their riding technique during a weekend. This idea is now being further expanded. On the one hand with the "Wildi's Foxes Festival" on Saturday, July 7, 2018 and on the other hand with the "BikerFoxes Camps". The "Wildi's Foxes Festival" enables all families to enjoy an attractive biking day at an all-inclusive rate on the Flumserberg with a family race and the Fox Challenge. The two-day "BikerFüchse Camps" take place in two levels - Advanced and Expert - during the summer and fall vacations. Overnight stays are held at the Alpenlodge Prod - at 1576 m and in the middle of the Flumserberg tourist area - where the participants prepare their evening meal together. In addition to the bike descents, the foxes can also experience a ride on the FLOOMZER toboggan run.
Private lessons - individual and personal
René Wildhaber is a federally certified ski instructor and works for the Flumserberg Ski School during the winter season. In June, he will now complete the training to become a Swiss Cycling Guide in order to acquire even more know-how. "It means a lot to me to pass on my many years of experience to passionate bikers," says René Wildhaber. With private lessons he responds individually and personally to the needs. Bookable are 3 h or one day (6 h) for one up to five persons. As René Wildhaber will often be on the road as an ambassador for Trek and Bosch eBike Systems, he works with qualified bike instructors to be able to offer lessons at a more flexible time.
