Pirelli and Trek also join forces in mountain biking: - Pirelli will now also equip the MTB TREK Factory Racing Teams Cross-Country, Enduro and Downhill with tires. - This cooperation complements the partnership that has existed for several years with the World Tour Team TREK-Segafredo - The teams will also support Pirelli technicians in the development of a new line of Scorpion tires for MTB, which will be manufactured at the Pirelli plant in Bollate near Milan.

Milano (Italy), 23/01/2023 - Pirelli will equip the athletes of the TREK Factory Racing Team with MTB tires. With the signing of the three-year contract, Pirelli and Trek further extend their collaboration started in 2020 with the World Tour Team TREK-Segafredo. The team will race on Pirelli's Scorpion XC series cross country tires and the brand new Scorpion Race EN and Race DH tires that TREK Factory Racing team riders will use in the most selective and demanding competitions in their respective disciplines, such as the newborn UCI MTB World Series.

CONTINUOUS DEVELOPMENT
The team's cooperation with Pirelli technicians will also play a role in the ongoing development of new and increasingly high-performance MTB tires, which, in line with Pirelli's proven racing methodology, is characterized by a lively exchange of feedback, validation and testing, both in competition conditions and outside of racing.

MADE IN ITALY TIRES
In particular, the collaboration with the TREK Factory Racing Team will take place at the new Pirelli plant in Bollate, near Milan, where a new line of Scorpion tires will be developed and produced, particularly focused on competition. These new tires will implement technical feedback sent directly from racing events by the riders and drivers of the TREK Factory Racing Team and all other MTB teams that Pirelli directly supports.

A TEAM OF MASTERS
The team, which covers cross country as well as downhill and enduro, includes elite riders such as 2021 World Cross Country Champion Evie Richards and 2021 Olympic MTB Champion and 2022 Swiss Short Track Champion Jolanda Neff. On the men's side, Anton Cooper, Vlad Dascalu, Riley Amos, Loris Vergier and Reese Wilson have enough talent, success and preparation to make it to the podium in 2023. As with the racewear of the World Tour TREK-Segafredo team, where the partnership also led to several commercial activities between the two companies, the Pirelli logo will be emblazoned on the chest and one sleeve of the race jersey of the 2023 TREK Factory Racing Team.

Matteo Barbieri, Head of Pirelli Cycling: "The growing collaboration with an industry-leading company like Trek and the riders of the road cycling teams and now also of the MTB team confirms the mutual satisfaction of the path traveled together in recent years. This new phase proves how important it is for Pirelli to play a leading role also in the competitive world, which is a kind of open-air laboratory for its development processes. Letting ourselves be measured by the best male and female athletes allows us to continuously increase the technological level of our bicycle tires, produced at the Pirelli factory in Bollate, so that they meet the quality and performance required by professional riders and the adaptability and versatility needed by amateurs.

Tim Vanderjeugd, Trek's Sports Marketing Director: "We are very happy that the Trek Factory Racing mountain bike teams are working with Pirelli. In our existing collaboration with Trek-Segafredo, we have seen first-hand the passion, care and attention that Pirelli brings to competitive performance. Extending this partnership to the Trek Factory Racing teams was a natural choice. We look forward to working with Pirelli on the development and technical feedback on its tires as they help us perform at the highest level and in the most important venues in the world.
