Mikaela Shiffrin is back! The race is a demonstration of her superiority

At the weekend, the women's Alpine Ski World Cup in the giant slalom and slalom disciplines was held in Are, Sweden. The American Mikaela Shiffrin, who had to take a six-week break due to injury after her crash in Cortina d'Ampezzo, was also back in the racing action. Her clear victory in the slalom after a break due to injury is a unique demonstration of her superiority.

On Sunday the women's slalom in the Alpine Ski World Cup took place in Are, Sweden. At the end of January, the two big opponents and leaders in the women's slalom, Mikaela Shiffrin and Petra Vlhova, were injured. The season ended prematurely for Petra Vlhova. Mikaela, however, fought her way back after six weeks of intensive recovery work. On Sunday she was back at the start for the first time and didn't know how good her condition would be after a six-week break from racing. She and her racing colleagues were all the more excited. The Croatian Zrinka Ljutic started the race with number 1 and immediately put in a great run. This was followed by the German Lena Dürr, who knew that she would have to shine today if she wanted to maintain her chance of winning the Slalom World Cup. Michelle Gisin surprised everyone with starting number 4 and took the lead. This was followed by the American Mikaela Shiffrin, whose run everyone was looking forward to. Was she the same again, was she unbeatable again? And she promptly took the lead with the best running time, even if it was only two hundredths ahead. So she was back again. But could you beat them? but other big competitors such as Anna Swenn-Larsson were far behind. They caught up in the second run with a good running time, but it was only enough for 5th place. Dürr, Gisin and Ljutic made mistakes in the second run, but were able to stay ahead thanks to their good first run. The American woman was last at the start and would finish the race. Would her nerves hold up? Would she be able to maintain the lead? And Mikaela Shiffrin's second run was really tough. With 53.01 seconds she delivered a fabulous run and was by far the clear best time and took an impressive lead of 1.24 seconds in her first race after the injury. Fabulous! The big lead floored everyone! A lead of 1.24 seconds in alpine skiing slalom is a world. This weekend she demonstrated not only her incredible class, but also her impressive dominance in the women's slalom! Congratulations Mikaela!
