Longines honors the best skiers of the season

American slalom queen Mikaela Shiffrin and Norwegian rising star of the ski winter Henrik Kristoffersen will be honored by Longines with the "Rising Ski Stars" award at the end of the season.

Last weekend in St. Moritz took place the last World Cup races in the discipline of Alpine skiing. Numerous stars were able to enjoy the day's victory and the victory of the World Cup in the respective discipline. Numerous crystal balls - the official trophies for the winners of the World Cup disciplines - flashed in the sunshine of the races held in brilliant weather.

As partner and official timekeeper of the FIS, the Swiss watch brand Longines celebrates the end of the alpine ski season by honoring the best athletes with the "Rising Ski Stars" award for the best female skier under 21 and the best male skier under 23. This season, the prize goes to Mikaela Shiffrin in the women's category, who won all the races she competed in - she was prevented from taking part in numerous races during the year due to injury - and to the young Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen in the men's category, who rose to become the 2015/16 slalom star this winter and impressively eclipsed previous slalom dominator Marcel Hirscher.
