K2 Wayback 2018/19
This winter, K2 rolls out with a completely redesigned touring range, which thanks to technical innovations have undergone a significant weight reduction. The name of the line has been changed from Backside to Wayback, keeping the name "Wayback" of the models, completely redesigning the construction and technology of the skis. In addition, shapes were changed, new masses were launched and old ones were eliminated. Therefore, the Wayback models of the previous year can no longer be compared with the models of the current winter 2018/19.
With the new touring ski models, K2 once again demonstrates leadership in the field of touring skis. The unique concept, the new lightweight construction and the well-chosen mass, aimed at classic touring skiers and deep snow adventurers, speak a clear language.

K2 Ski Technologies
All terrain rocker
As the name suggests, this type of rocker from K2 stands for use in all types of terrain. The All-Terrain Rocker™ has a slightly raised shovel for optimum performance in variable and soft snow and enough preload under the binding for plenty of precision and edge grip on icy slopes and hard snow.
TI SpYne
The first of its kind. For K2's new touring skis, a Titanal laminate has been developed that dramatically improves the cushioning and enhances the predictability of lightweight carbon construction while increasing stability and edge grip.
Carbon overdrive
Secret construction of K2, in which carbon fiber is used so that the ski becomes great in comparison when not using carbon fiber. K2 does not comment on the exact changes using carbon fiber, but the changes are said to be amazing.
Conical ski ends
A narrower ski tip moves the widest part of the contact area to the rear. This reduces the weight of the ski tip and steering in soft and variable snow conditions. The narrower tip allows more control after the end of the turn to better accelerate out or steer, depending on piste conditions.
Snowphobic Topsheets
Water repellent, snow dissolving material is used for the top sheet, which helps prevent snow from sticking to the ski surface so the ski always stays light.
Skin Grommets
All Adventure Skis have multifunctional holes in the shovel and ski end. In addition to the possibility of attaching skins, the holes serve as attachment points when building rescue sleds or various snow anchors. This saves material and therefore weight and gives additional safety in the terrain.
