G3: Hardly known and yet so unique

The brand is relatively unknown in Switzerland, but it absolutely has the potential for more with its unique ski concept and capabilities. Attention all touring skiers, freeriders and all-mountain enthusiasts.

from Rolf Fleckenstein

Dnyone would seriously deny that Canadians have a strong connection to winter sports, just as little as the fact that their vast winter territory is made for people who want to go ski touring. All the more surprising, then, that so little in the way of ski construction originates in Canada, or is at least known.

Even I was not familiar with the ski models from G3 - G3 stands for the three Gs from the name GenuineGuideGear. It was all the more exciting to learn why one should consider such a G3. For one thing, you have to know that G3 is present with a small range in the freeride, touring and all-mountain segment.

On the other hand, they stand for their own ski construction concept. The main mass is concentrated in the center of the ski, as you can easily see from the camber in the middle. G3 always uses the ultra-light Paulownia wood in combination with poplar to have a very light but also powerful ski. In addition, titanal inserts provide stability and damping and carbon inserts above and below the core for turning strength and responsiveness.

In sum, G3 offers very light skis that have a good balance of cushioning, performance and stability. You do not wear heavily on them on the ascent and can rely on stable skis with pep and good handling on the descent also thanks to the rocker. So tours and trips in the terrain become fun.
