Alpine Skiing World Cup 2017/18: The winners are determined

The Alpine Ski World Cup 2017/18 came to an end a few days ago in Are, Sweden. It was an exciting year, a snowy year that produced some highlights. One of the biggest surprises was certainly the victory of the German Thomas Dressen in the downhill of the famous Hahnenkamm race in Kitzbühel. However, Switzerland's Beat Feuz also managed to impress this season and, thanks to numerous podium finishes and a number of victories, including the Lauberhorn downhill in Wengen, claimed the small crystal globe in the downhill. Phenomenal was also certainly Mikaela Shiffrin, who for the first time also showed strong in the fast disciplines and took several podium places. After dominating in the slalom and giant slalom disciplines as expected, she deservedly took the overall World Cup victory with an enormous lead. And of course Marcel Hirscher must be mentioned once again. The likeable beaming man from Austria was always able to keep his closest rivals Henrik Kristoffersen at bay and rightly took the two small crystal globes in the slalom and giant slalom and the big crystal globe for the seventh time in a row. No skier has ever achieved that.
