Andreu Lacondeguy takes Rampage title, Semenuk 3rd world title
He wanted to win like no other. Three times he just missed the podium despite good performances. Now it was time for Andreu Lacondeguy to break this Rampage curse. The Catalan prepared himself perfectly for the mountain bike event of the year: hardly a day went by without him sitting on his big bike. Bigger, higher, further - these are the adjectives that most aptly describe Andreu's riding style. So the canyons of the new Rampage location couldn't give him wobbly knees, and the superior grip of his Kaiser 2.4 Project tires kept him on track during this daredevil run. Smooth and at full speed, he roared down his track, peppered with jumps and whips that took the spectators' breath away. In the final, he set the bar so high with his sensational first run and a score of 95.25 that no other rider could top it. "I'm super happy to finally be on the podium," Andreu said. "I knew I had to do everything I could to finish on the podium this year. The week in Utah was just crazy - the building, the stress with the weather, the wind. Now I'm just stoked that everything turned out the way I wanted it to."
