Mammut Alpine School now also in Austria

Armin Reitner, Head of Mammut Alpine School (MAS) Austria

From summer 2018, outdoor enthusiasts will also be able to attend courses and tours at the Mammut Alpine School in Austria. The successful Swiss concept is being extended to the Eastern Alps and offers mountain sports enthusiasts unforgettable outdoor moments. The new Mammut Alpine School Austria is headed by Armin Reitner.

For more than 30 years, the Mammut Alpine School (MAS) has been bringing the mountain world closer to its guests. From summer 2018, MAS will also start its activities in Austria and offer a varied program including high altitude tours, climbing routes and climbs.

With the new branch in Austria, Mammut is continuing the success story of the Mammut Alpine School, which goes back some ten years: in 2008, Mammut became the first and so far only outdoor brand to establish its own company mountain school. Since then, mountain sports enthusiasts have been able to enjoy a comprehensive training and touring program in the three countries of Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. In 2015, Mammut also took over the Uri Mountain School (BSU), which was founded in 1981. Since winter 2015/16, BSU and MAS have been offering a joint program. With the opening of MAS Austria in the summer of 2018, Mammut is strengthening the concept of its own mountain school and further expanding its offering.

Head of MAS Austria will be the state-certified mountain and ski guide Armin Reitner. The Upper Austrian from the Dachstein region is a Mammut Austria Team athlete and travels throughout the Austrian Alps in summer and winter. Armin is looking forward to the new challenge with excitement: "I'm looking forward to bringing the Eastern Alps and mountain sports closer to many people and offering them a unique experience."

MAS Austria offers tours for every taste and all levels of difficulty:

  • From the Steinerweg on the Dachstein (2995 m) to the Gross Venediger (3674 m)
  • From the Patteriol (3056 m) at the Arlberg to the Wildspitze (3770 m) in the Ötztal Alps and to the roof of Austria, the Gross Glockner (3798 m)
  • In addition, guests benefit from a wide range of test and rental equipment.
