K2 models for 50th birthday

50 is not every day and this is a cause for celebration. To celebrate its 50th anniversary (1962-2012), K2 launched the "Rolling Stones" ski last winter, which also celebrate their 50th. Now K2 is rolling out a birthday range that comes with an appealing retro look. Anyone interested in K2 skis in the 70s and 80s would find designs like this. It was a time when Americans were very popular in Europe, not only had they saved Europe in WW2, but they also stood for good, protecting Europe from the impending enemy from the East. The Americans were the trendsetters par excellence at that time. Whatever came from the USA became a hit: US cars, music, movie stars, roller skates, skateboards, skis, etc. In the 80s, K2 succeeded for the first time to construct a combination of the then existing in the market racing skis and recreational skis, the 5500. With the colors of the USA and the design years of that time, the new Impact 5500 pairs with the technology of the present. Retro looks and cutting-edge rocker and carver technology give K2 fans a performance-oriented, fast all-mountain ski (60% piste, 40% off-piste) that meets the demands of today's 100% and also evokes wistful feelings among nostalgics. Its price of Fr. 849.00 is well worth it. By the way, with the model "50th Anniversary Recoil Comp" there is another retro look model to choose from. It is nice that K2 always inspires and enchants skiers with their unique ideas and products.
