Handmade ski
How do you define the term "handmade ski" correctly, after all, every ski production involves hands that grind, glue or put the skis in the press? We understand "handmade skis" to mean skis that are made with great care and a high proportion of handicraft work. As a rule, these are ski brands that produce their ski models in small series or very small series up to a maximum of a few hundred skis per year. The production time of a handmade ski is therefore significantly longer than for skis that are mass produced. Depending on the brand, the production time varies between 6 - 16 hours per individual ski. As a result, the brands and models of "handmade skis" differ significantly from skis that are mostly produced by machine in mass production.
Who buys a handmade piece of furniture from a specialized furniture carpenter, also acquires a different quality than if you buy a standard furniture in a large furniture store chain. The furniture of the carpenter does not necessarily have to be "better" especially not in terms of functionality, but the furniture of the carpenter has a completely different, higher value and lives concepts such as uniqueness, originality and rarity. This is a completely different lifestyle, which is associated with more passion.

swiss massive allmountain
Handmade allmountain carver
Even though the model "Allmountain" does not use a rocker, swiss massiv calls this model "Allmountain", because the widest model with a center width of 80 mm, thanks to its soft shovel and its width already provides decent lift and also passages with powder snow grown. The fiber bamboo sidewalls provide good edge grip over the entire running surface of the ski.
swiss massive slalom carver

This ski is aimed at sporty skiers who appreciate precision and agility on the slopes. The extremely narrow waisted ski harmonizes very well with the Volholzkern construction with titanal inserts and bamboo sidewalls. Maximum precision and lightning-fast response characterize the model.
R11 - handmade carver ski
Behind the brand "R11" is Roy Leuenberger, a carpenter and skilled ski maker who has been producing his own skis for almost 10 years. In 2019/20, he has three sporty models on offer, which are elaborately handcrafted.
Anyone who knows how skis come off the assembly line every minute at major ski brands will be amazed to hear that Roy Leuenberger takes a whole 16 hours to complete a single ski. What is impressive is that he "bakes" his skis in his specially designed ski press for a good hour before processing them further, whereas skis in large ski factories are pressed together for what feels like a minute. This difference illustrates the massive difference in quality between a handmade R11 and a mass-produced ski from the big ski brands. In view of this high effort and the added value in terms of durability, the low additional price is almost a joke. And as a bonus, every customer can have the ski custom-made according to their individual wishes.
Radical Carver
Handmade carving carbon ski
Radical's handmade carving skis based on Radical's carbon philosophy are light, nippy and grippy on the slopes. This winter Radical launches the "New Carver", which is even sportier and more direct.
Radical Allmountain
Handmade allmountain carbon ski
The handmade all-mountain skis are by their nature a little wider and surfier than Radical carving models. The lightness of the skis based on the carbon philosophy support the buoyancy in soft snow next to the tip rocker and the slightly wider shape, which provides better displacement.
Radical Freeride
Handmade freeride ski
The handmade freeride model from Radical is aimed at confirmed deep snow lovers and seamlessly connects to the typical strengths of Radical's carbon-based skis. After the great success of last winter's newly launched "One of Ten" model, another "One of Ten" model with a new design is coming to the market this winter.
