F1 GP of Austria 2015: a clear thing

A turbulent weekend was in store for the drivers: an exciting circuit, rainy weather, lower temperatures and teams that made up considerable ground and ensured a new arrangement on the standings - Formula 1 had all that to offer this weekend.

The spectacular came right up front when Alonso and Raikkönen unexpectedly got wedged in a dangerous-looking crash on the first lap. Raikkönen broke the rear of the Ferrari a bit and Alonso's Honda got caught on Raikkönen's rear tire and was catapulted onto the Ferrari. Thank goodness, nothing happened to either driver.

Up front, everything was the same: Hamilton started from pole, but this time Rosberg was more eager and grabbed the lead right at the start and pulled away. The German was able to lead the race until the end and happily crossed the finish line. Vettel was actually allowed to count on another podium finish for a long time, but the pit crew's impact drill jammed when changing the rear tire during the pit stop. As a result, Felipe Massa was able to pass Vettel in his strong Williams and snatched third place. With a fifth-place finish by Bottas, Williams proved that it is clearly one of the current top teams. Somewhat surprisingly, newly crowned Le Mans winner Nico Hülkenberg found himself in 6th place, according to his comments the expected technical advances should only take effect in the next races, but perhaps just a red herring. His colleague Perez also found himself in the top 10. In stark contrast to the beginning of the season, Pastor Maldonado also showed his inspired side and repeatedly took seventh place after the race in Canada. Clearly, the Williams, Lotus and Sahara teams have made some progress, while the Sauber and Red Bull teams have suffered. If Ferrari can now catch up even more strongly with Mercedes, the tension in Formula 1 will be restored.

Today's race, however, was a clear-cut affair: Nico Rosberg left no stone unturned, snatched up his stablemate Hamilton at the start and drove away from the front to take home the victory beautifully. As a result, he reduced the gap to leader Hamilton in the points standings by a further seven points.
