Davos Parsenn - the end of the winter season

The end of the winter season is near, on the Parsenn they had extended the season because there is tons of snow, but real skiing is no longer.

This week we wanted to know it again and went to Davos on the Parsenn to conjure up the last time turns in the snow. The weather had still been shining at the beginning, but the later it got, the more clouds came up. This had no influence on our mood, but there was nothing more with the visibility, as soon as the light was gone, then you had to ski blind and that is just unpleasant. You can't see ahead, you can't plan, you can't control. Also the strong wind, which pulled above with strong gusts the few skiers around the nose, was not bad, finally it was not really cold. The real end for skiing actually manifested itself in the condition of the snow. While it was already 10 degrees at the bottom station, it was only 3 degrees at the top of the mountain, but the sun that shone throughout the day and the warm temperatures put such a strain on the snow that one found mainly sulz, a sticky, tedious snow that is no fun and suitable for getting stuck, even with freeride skis. Also the bulldozer was only rarely on the road, understandable, individual slopes were no longer worked at all, so the snow thickened here and there, and that was no longer the giant fun.

So now it's over with skiing, there's no point now in rolling through the sulz, it's time to hang the boards away again, although it would actually be great, because never before have we encountered such empty slopes as today, the whole slope for us alone, unique, but the snow no longer does. Now we have to wait until the snow melts and there is room for bikers and hikers. One can only hope that next season again such a winter splendor sets in.
