Mikaela Shiffrin repeats yesterday's victory today to make it a double win in the slalom races in Levi, Finland. Wendy Holdener, Petra Vlhova and Lena Dürr follow closely behind.

After yesterday's slalom race, the usual suspects for the day's victory were known, such as the American Mikaela Shiffrin and the Slovak Petra Vlhova together with the chasers Anna Swenn Larsson, who dropped out in the first run today, Wendy Holdener, Thea Louise Stjernesund, Katharina Liensberger, Michelle Gisin, Sara Hector or Lena Dürr. And things went very well for the German again. Yesterday she took the lead in the first run, today it was second place after the first run.

The second run started in much better visibility. The first six skiers - Shiffrin, Dürr, Vlhova, Holdener, Stjernesund and Hector - were separated by just 0.07 to 0.42 seconds, meaning that all six had a real chance of winning the day. After the second run was brought up from behind, the best results regularly tumbled with the next female skier. After Sara Hector had taken the lead, she was followed by Thea Louise Stjernesund, who fluffed and had to fall in line behind Sector. Now the Swiss fans in particular were waiting for Wendy Holdener, who was in a promising position. She delivered a picture-book run without brakemen or mistakes with a lot of momentum and a super line, distancing the leading Sara Hector by 1.14 seconds. That was a clear exclamation mark and an announcement of victory. Slovakia's Petra Vlhova followed with her usual ambitions for victory, but she had a brakeman or a skid in here and there. The result: she ended up behind the leader Wendy Holdener. Holdener and her fans knew that she had really made a difference with this super run. Now the second to last skier was Lena Dürr from Germany, who gave away the victory yesterday with a miserable second run. You could see that she tried hard not to make mistakes like yesterday, but she still had trouble with the second run. With a gap of 0.83 seconds to Wendy Holdener's run time there was nothing to be done, again the ungrateful fourth place was waiting for her. I hope for her sake that this will not turn into a trauma. She has to learn to compete in the second run with exactly the same attitude as in the first, then it will be better. Now only the American Mikaela Shiffrin was on top and in comparison with the Swiss Wendy Holdener she is clearly ahead. But the lead of 0.21 seconds over Wendy Holdener from the first run was practically nothing and Holdener had put down a bomb run. But who knows the American, knows she always gives everything and never gives up. The race was accordingly close, she always lost a few hundredths in the upper sections, but she was still about a tenth of a second ahead, in the last section she was able to turn it up again, which gave her a lead of 0.28 seconds at the finish and thus again the day's victory in the slalom race in Levi as already yesterday.
