Radical One of Ten 2018/19: Radical has a new one!

No, not what you think, no new boss, the good Mark Farner will surely stay with us, and also no new marketing manager, Patrick Staub is doing a great job, also no new ski maker, because Flo Hösli, as a trained carpenter, loves working with wood above all, but yes a new ski, what else, namely the new One of Ten, which you can also win!

by Rolf Fleckenstein

Radical has been making snowboards and skis for decades, which take advantage of the properties of carbon. In various layers and in combination with Titanal and Kevlar, the ski core of the ski models was and is reinforced until a Radical model is created. The poppy, zippy behavior in the snow may be attributed to the installation of said carbon fiber layers. Accordingly, the ski models always presented themselves in a color design that was close to the carbon fiber, which should communicate the philosophy of the brand.

Last winter Radical broke with the continuous concept and launched for the first time a model with a wooden surface, the One of Ten. The model owes its name to the fact that the model series is limited to 10 pieces, one of which was to be won in a competition.

The model One of Ten anno 2017/18 was equipped with a full 110 mm center width and therefore also the widest freeride model of Radical. This year, piste riders and all-mountain enthusiasts should get their money's worth, because not only the design has been revised, but also the dimensions are completely new. With a center width of 82 mm and a radius of just 11.5 m, you are ideally equipped to conjure up fast turns on the piste in particular. The strong V-shape of the front section ensures that diving in deep snow becomes almost impossible. This makes the ski a real all-rounder or all-mountain ski, which, according to its name, is at home everywhere on the mountain.

The design of the One of Ten follows the motto "Nature meets Hightech": A full-surface layer of carbon refined with beautiful plum veneer, in which the Radical logo is burned in. In contrast to last year's model, they have even become much bolder and have made the surface mostly with wood. Last year, only the shovel and a small cutout against the ski end were made of wood. What will happen next year, will there be a fully wooden surface?

One thing is clear, the rare, handmade model is high quality and versatile. This makes it a potential candidate for the Christmas tree. Who will be lucky enough to receive one of the nine remaining models as a gift?
