Alberto Cavaggioni is appointed new CEO of Bianchi

Alberto Cavaggioni is the new Managing Director and CEO of Bianchi, part of the Grimaldi Industri AB Group. To mark the company's 140th anniversary, the Italian brand is embarking on a new phase of growth in product innovation and international expansion under the leadership of the 48-year-old manager, who brings 25 years of global management experience.

Salvatore Grimaldi, President and Owner of Bianchi, has appointed Alberto Cavaggioni as the company's new General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, effective Monday, March 17, 2025.

Born in Milan in 1977, Cavaggioni brings over 25 years of international leadership experience to Bianchi. He has held key positions in Europe, the US, and China in the industrial, automotive, and engineering consulting sectors. His career is closely linked to some of Italy's most recognized and storied brands. Previously, he served as Marketing Director at Iveco, Head of Alfa Romeo EMEA, Head of Maserati for Europe and China, and most recently CEO of RINA Consulting—the leading Italian engineering firm and part of the RINA Group founded in 1861.

Cavaggioni takes on his new role at Bianchi in a significant year: 140 years since its founding in 1885, which was celebrated on March 22 at the Milan-San Remo with the launch of a limited edition of the top-of-the-line "Oltre RC" and "Specialissima RC" models. Under Cavaggioni's leadership, Bianchi is embarking on a new phase of strategic development. This includes the completion of its state-of-the-art production facility in Treviglio, which will open on June 4, 2024, and will be one of the most modern facilities of its kind in the world. The company's next chapter will focus on continued growth in Europe, with an emphasis on expansion in North America, Asia, and China. At the heart of this long-term vision are Bianchi's customers and brand enthusiasts, as well as its global dealer network, to provide a unique shopping experience.

"I'm proud and excited about this new challenge at Bianchi," said Alberto Cavaggioni. "This brand is a symbol of Italian excellence with a remarkable heritage. The cycling industry is undergoing profound change, and thanks to the passion and expertise of our people and the strength of our legendary products, Bianchi is ready to evolve and take its rightful place in the global market. As in sports, it takes a great team to achieve ambitious goals."

Cavaggioni added: "I would like to express my deepest gratitude to Mr. Salvatore Grimaldi and the entire Board of Directors for their trust, as well as to Marco Gentili for his preparatory work in laying the foundations for this new chapter – a chapter that honors the company's tradition and core values while shaping its future."

Bianchi's President and Owner Salvatore Grimaldi welcomed the new CEO and reiterated the company's ambitions under the Grimaldi Industri AB Group, which has owned Bianchi since 1997.

"After a comprehensive transformation period marked by the creation of our new production facility—a cornerstone of Bianchi's future—our 140th anniversary marks the beginning of a new chapter driven by ambition and passion. Our goal remains clear: to grow while continuing to embody the essence of cycling worldwide. We are convinced that in Alberto we have found the right leader to lead Bianchi into a new era of success in our rich history."
