White Style 2015: Big jumps in the snow

Saalfelden Leogang, Austria, December 10, 2014

Winter time is white style time. On January 30, 2015, the mountain bike greats will meet in Leogang and show what tricks they have up their sleeves for the new season. The Silver Event on snow is the starting signal for the FMB World Tour and the spectators can look forward to an international field of riders.

When slopestylers whip over snow kickers and do backflips and other moves with their mountain bikes in the floodlights, it's White Style in Saalfelden Leogang again. The FMB Silver Event shortens the off-season for bike fans - and has been doing so for nine years now. On January 30, they can finally look forward to new tricks and well-known riders again.

The field of riders has not yet been finalized, but it should be impressive once again. At the event, the athletes not only collect valuable points for the FMB ranking, but also gain riding experience for the upcoming contests and look for the special challenge that riding on snow brings with it. In recent years, lesser-known riders and rookies have also repeatedly shown extraordinary and great tricks, including Russia's Pavel Alekhin with his backflip double tailwhip in 2013 or Nicholi Rogatkin (USA), who caused a huge stir earlier this year with his signature trick, the cashroll. The best run in 2014 was performed by Antoine Bizet from France. Among other things, he catapulted himself to the top of the podium with a double backflip and thus claimed his first victory at an international contest. Young talent Nicholi Rogatkin was happy about his second place and showed the scene that he is still a force to be reckoned with in the future. The Swede Anton Thelander heated up the audience with a 360 tailwhip, among other things, and secured third place. Such a special kind of trick spectacle awaits the spectators again next year. It all starts on January 30 at 4:30 p.m. at the Leogang Schanteilift. Then we will see who has prepared well in the off-season and which rider can best adapt to the unfamiliar surface.

As a special treat, there will also be a fatbike race for visitors for the first time in 2015. Anyone who wants to try out this new trend can take part. The aim is to master a marked slalom in the snow as quickly as possible with the bikes and their particularly thick tires. And all this in the extraordinary atmosphere of the wintry Steinberge mountains in the Saalfelden Leogang vacation region.
