Stéphane Cattin: New Director of Swiss Snowsports

As of July 2021, Stéphane Cattin, former Alpine director and board member of Swiss-Ski (2015-2019), will be the new director of the umbrella organization of Swiss ski schools.

"I have built my professional career on the emotions that snow sports, and alpine skiing in particular, have given me. I worked for Swiss-Ski for over 15 years in various functions. First as a technician and then as a coach at all squad levels. I rose through the ranks within the federation and completed numerous training courses in the field of snow sports. Even though the world of skiing has always been part of my life, I took time out from the sport to gain experience in various responsible positions in the private sector. This allowed me to expand my know-how in the areas of management, finance, business strategy, and sales and marketing. Thanks to my bilingualism, I can easily communicate with the wide network of contacts I have built up during my career. The position I have now been offered gives me a great opportunity to live out my passion, snow sports in all its forms. I am looking forward to this new challenge and am happy to be able to pursue my passion again."

"The Board is convinced that with Stéphane Cattin we have found the ideal person to master the current and future challenges for Swiss Snowsports. It is a great opportunity for the umbrella organization to be able to tackle exciting projects, such as the development of new teaching materials for snow sports instructors or the strengthening of the ski schools through a new bike offer during the snow-free months, with such a broad-based and recognized personality in the snow sports sector." This is how the president of Swiss Snowsports, Jürg Friedli, comments on the newly elected director.
