Rossignol Hero: success thanks to creativity

The French ski manufacturer Rossignol convinces winter after winter with new technological innovations, which not only provides riders with more performance, but also pushes the ski industry and its standards forward overall.

After the international ski federation FIS issued new guidelines for the mass of skis, Rossignol also had to come up with something. In anticipation of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, the manufacturer developed the new "HERO" model series, which was equipped with crucial technologies and is now being launched on the market for consumers.

Prop Tech Technology
To improve swing release and power transmission, Rossignol has developed Prop Tech technology. This involves placing a reinforcing layer of Zicral aluminum on the top of the core, which is cut lengthwise at the front. On the cover sheet between the binding and the shovel of the ski, this technology is marked with the three strokes.

Power Turn Rocker
Rossignol as one of the leading brands when it comes to rocker - a stronger bend up of the skis - also uses a rocker in its race skis, which is low with 10% proportion, but also supports the turn initiation. The 90% preload still provide sufficient power and edge grip.

The radius decides: Long Turn (LT) and Short Turn (ST)
Sometimes the radius of a ski is an important key figure that provides information about the ski's performance. Therefore, all HERO models display the radius of the respective model.
Here, "ST" stands for Short Turn and means a radius of less than 15 meters. These are skis that are very agile and responsive. "LT", on the other hand, stands for Long Turn and refers to skis with a radius greater than 15 meters. These skis are not as maneuverable, but are more stable and designed for high speeds. MASTER models (black) even have the exact radius printed on them.

In total, consumers now have a choice of 11 models for adults and four models for children and juniors. Not only technologically, but also visually, Rossignol's racing skis have become better. No wonder more and more stars are switching to Rossignol.
