Radical - Handmade Swiss rocker skis

If you don't like to pull one of the numerous mass-produced skis from the shelves at sports wholesalers, but rather focus on the individual touch and uniqueness, you will find a small but fine range of handmade skis at Radical, which are produced in smallest quantities in Zurich-Wollishofen. Over 28 years ago Mark Farner, as a former World Cup snowboarder, successfully started building his own snowboards, soon after he decided to launch skis as well. Size and sales in the millions is not the primary goal at Radical, but refinement and uniqueness. With a lot of passion, high-quality skis are created here with a fairly uniform appearance, from which only nuances are deviated from model to model. Radical calls the design of its skis timeless. Proudly, Radical calls itself the only manufacturer of skis with a carbon Kevlar construction that comes with a lifetime guarantee on flex and preload. The philosophy behind this is to meet the highest standards of performance and technology to provide maximum skiing fun.

Two unique rocker skis for 2012/13
In 2012, the niche player also deals with the topic of "rocker" and launches two models. On the one hand, there is the "Allmountain" model. The name says it all. With average widths between 74 and 80 mm and lengths between 155 and 175 cm, one is clearly slope-oriented. On the other hand, with a relatively wide shovel (120 - 132 mm), which is additionally more bent up with an "Early Rise Rocker" at the front, one is well prepared for excursions into the powder. A ski for on and off piste thus. A biting edge grip and the fast Graphit Race running surface provide the sporty touch. The ski is extremely light, grippy and turn-friendly and is clearly aimed at performance-oriented skiers. On the other hand, this is the new, further developed "Freerider", which with center widths of 96.5 and 102 mm can even be attributed to the all-mountain segment, especially when you think that in the freeride segment you can easily encounter boards with a center width of over 130 mm. The stronger V-shape as well as the "Early Rise Rocker" at the shovel should provide for surf feeling like on a snowboard. The triple Triax torsion reinforcement ensures strong grip even on the slopes and the carbon Kevlar Triax sandwich construction is responsible for the low weight, turning pleasure and smooth running of the ski.

If you want to ride a rocker ski that you rarely see, that should have high quality workmanship and materials, and that allows for sporty riding, you should definitely try a Radical.
