Zell-Gerlos in the Zillertal Arena: 1,200 km of trail diversity

Although the Zillertal Arena with its 143 kilometers of slopes is the largest ski area in the Zillertal, that is by no means all that the region has to offer: A whopping 1,200 kilometers are namely available to mountain bike enthusiasts from May to October - and a trail that is not necessarily ONE trail.

Après-ski in winter, alpine romance in summer: the Zillertal Arena is hard to beat for versatility. While the mountain railroads of the Tyrolean region take eager skiers to the snow-covered peaks in the winter months, from the first approach of spring they ensure that accomplished mountain bikers can easily reach the many trails in the area - a vacation shift of a somewhat different kind. The diversity of the Zillertal Arena is also reflected in its bike network: from cozy valley trails to adventurous forest bike trails and action-packed single trails, you'll find everything your MTB heart desires here.

Not the One and Only: 1 trail - many variants
There is basically no such thing as a single Isskogel trail, because the trail descent is divided into different variants. They are called Iss-Tough, Iss-Flow, Iss-Shore, Iss-Vertical as well as Iss-Natural and already the names indicate which character the respective variant brings with it. The main line is the Iss-Flow, which is particularly suitable for beginners and runs down to the valley in sheer endless curves and traverses. If you follow the Iss-Flow, new branches open up again and again, leading to trails with very different characteristics. The Iss-Natural surprises with its natural subsoil of roots, rocks and ledges, while the Iss-Shore offers long boardwalks that give a wonderful Canadian feeling. The Iss-Vertical, on the other hand, offers a difficult variant that is extremely steep and technical. With the Iss-Tough we get to know the big brother of the Iss-Flow: Here, larger jumps, approach curves and fast traverses await us experienced mountain bikers.

The Zillertal Arena also lives up to its claim of offering the right terrain for all bikers with its mountain bike practice trails: The "Waldspielplatz" is located in Gerlos-Gmünd and consists of a 500-meter-long circular route that leads through a sparse forest and is equipped with numerous practice elements. Here, the little ones in particular can first get to grips with trail riding, so that they can later enjoy the region's full-blown mountain bike trails. They can soon dare to try the Iss Flow.

Bisch' a Tiroler, bisch' a Biker!
Tyroleans are born with a love of sports. One person who can sing a song about this is Bobby Roos: He is at home in the mountains and knows the most beautiful routes in the Zell-Gerlos region in the Zillertal Arena. As a bike guide at the Almhof Family Resort & Spa, he shows MTB-enthusiastic guests the most popular hotspots and best-kept secret tips in the area - with Bobby, every ride becomes an experience.

And the mini-bikers? In the meantime, they can really let off steam in the new kids' bike school! The dream location of the multiple award-winning mountain bike & children's hotel also ensures plenty of flow: directly on the sunny side of Gerlos. And deeply rooted in the region: the ecological hotel has its own small hydroelectric power plant and relies on regionality in its natural cuisine. The hotel managers Elisabeth and Peter Kammerlander and their team know how to satisfy small and big bikers, cater to individual wishes and offer what the Zillertal Arena region is known for: lots of variety.
