Vincent Kriechmayr wins the Super G in Hinterstoder

Vincent Kriechmayr took his second victory in a Super G World Cup race in the current season, after the victory in Val Gardena on December 20 last year. The starting number one was the right choice for him, because for the following racers the piste conditions became more and more difficult.

Second went to Switzerland's Mauro Caviezel, who has had a strong season so far and now leads the overall Super G World Cup standings ahead of Kriechmayr and Aamodt Kilde. Third place went to Kriechmayr's teammate Matthias Mayer, who was just eight hundredths short of victory.

Alexander Aamodt Kilde, who currently leads the overall Alpine Ski World Cup with 1022 points and started the race with bib number seven, skied best time in the upper part. But after an inside skiing mistake he took off and landed on his back. Fortunately, he was able to ski himself to the finish line a little later and remained unhurt, but with this failure he lost important points in the race for the big crystal globe.

As one of his fiercest competitors with regard to this bullet, Henrik Kristoffersen tried to reduce his points gap to his compatriot. With bib number 32 it was enough for him to finish in 22nd place and he could only make up 9 points. He is still 65 points behind the number one. Alexis Pinturault, the third-placed skier in the overall World Cup, is just 9 points behind Kristoffersen after this race. The Frenchman managed an almost flawless run, which meant fourth place in the final standings.
