Rossignol knows how to score with outstanding innovations year after year and draw the astonishment of customers. While in the last two years the focus was on the all-mountain segment with the theme of Rocker, this winter they have come up with something for the freeriders, a skier segment that is receiving noticeable growth.
Air Tip
Revolutionary in this new series is the concept of the shovel and the ski end. Rossignol's patented Air Tip technology encloses air in a reinforced lattice structure, resulting in ski tips that are significantly lighter than other skis. The weight of the skis is thus reduced and centered, the frictional resistance is reduced, the turning ability is increased. The translucent ski ends appear visually special and float up more easily, what more do freeriders want! Currently, three men's models - Soul 7 (yellow), Super 7 (orange) and Squad 7 (blue) - and two women's models - Savory 7 (turquoise/mint) and Star 7 (purple) - are equipped with this technology. Three other ski models each can be found among the freeride range, which have to make do without the air tip technology.
Powder Turn Rocker
Nothing really new for our loyal readers, as we have reported extensively on Rocker over the past two years. The Powder Turn Rocker from Rossignol offers 50% preload under the shovel and 50% Rocker on the shovel and ski end and thus a strong lift, which can be used well in deep snow.
Light Wood Core & Diago Fiber
Big skis are heavy skis, every freerider knows that. In addition to the Air Tip technology, Rossignol further reduces the weight of the 7 series by using a wooden core made of Paulownia wood, which reduces the weight by another 15% and is used in the Soul 7 (Yellow) and Super 7 (Orange) models. These two models also use the fiber "Diago Fiber" developed in racing instead of conventional fiberglass over the wood core.
Other technologies such as the "Free Vas" and the "Minicap Sandwich" construction provide stability, low vibration, rich edge grip and durability.
