The Board of Directors of EVZ has decided to terminate its collaboration with CEO Patrick Lengwiler (47) with immediate effect.
In June, Patrick Lengwiler was actively informed by the Board of Directors that his contract with EVZ would be terminated in autumn 2027 due to differing strategic views. In recent discussions with the Board, Lengwiler made it clear that, given this situation, he could no longer maintain his overall responsibility as CEO of EVZ and as the client representative for the OYM hall expansion project. At his own request, he has resigned from his position with immediate effect.
Chairman of the Board Hans-Peter Strebel: “Patrick Lengwiler has done invaluable work for EVZ for 29 years. This is an enormous achievement that deserves recognition. We wish Patrick all the best for the future.” Patrick Lengwiler shaped EVZ for almost three decades. He began in the EVZ organization in 1997 as a junior coach, rose to the position of sporting director in 2004, and finally took over as CEO in 2012. Under his leadership, EVZ has become one of the top clubs in Swiss ice hockey.
The EVZ board of directors considers it important to maintain direct contact with the team in the current situation. Based on this, potential improvements will be jointly examined and the sporting development of EVZ will be sustainably ensured. The EVZ board of directors will provide further information on the next steps in due course.
