Football World Cup 2018: South Korea pulls down the pants of the Germans!

Today is a hit what all of Germany feared after the first game: the premature exit from the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

You can do 1000 analyses and criticize 1000 things, but the result remains: 2:0 against soccer dwarf South Korea, that's a real embarrassment.

Real cohesion against compulsory work, real fire against reason
The difference between the two teams was clear. Even though Korea was not as technically skilled as the Germans, their massive passion, their willingness to sacrifice, their enormous willingness to run and the inner cohesion of the team were convincing: Everyone ran for each other and simply tried everything to storm forward against the Germans and to throw their bodies in at the back to stonewall against the Germans. If the Koreans formed a circle of players before the whistle blew and cheered each other on with a common battle cry, the German players stood in front of the center circle, downright bored, waiting for the whistle to blow so they could do their duty. Passion is something different than the German players had shown: There was diligence, there was effort to meet Germany's expectations, but you never got the feeling that the team itself really wanted that to the hilt. There was technique, there was rational thought, there was constant rational analysis, but there was no heart and no inner team cohesion. And it is precisely the heart, the fire of passion, that makes football. This fire seemed to be missing from the German players. Accordingly, the South Koreans jumped wildly after every ball and played boldly with steep passes that often ended up in front of Germany's penalty area, as the Koreans' small forwards were unable to tackle the tall Germans. But this shows that if you always attack passionately and believe in yourself, you can make it. This inner conviction, this belief in oneself and this honest will seemed to be missing in the German team. One could get the impression that Germany wanted to do a good job for the people at home, but the Koreans wanted to be heroes, to create a miracle. If Korea, for its part, stormed quickly with steep passes and covered well at the back with man-to-man defense and extreme running, and on top of that had a super goalkeeper to fall back on, who held many a thing that was supposed to be a goal, Germany played boringly, without ideas, almost unmotivated, with countless misplaced passes, without strong crosses, without clever passes, and in the end even the back man blew the match, turning the football dwarf South Korea into a giant.

He who is not hungry does not want to hunt
As long as the inner cohesion of the team is lacking, as long as not one player knows what his teammate is up to, how he thinks and feels, and if no one burns like fire, then even a great team like Germany has to fold against supposedly vanquishable opponents. Perhaps the Germans had lacked real hunger. Maybe they had been too spoiled in the past and now the real ravenous hunger for the cup was missing, because technically the guys have it. This is not about ill will, but about the small but crucial difference that arises when a small team wants to work a miracle and gives everything and a big team simply wants to fulfill the expectations it has of itself and the nation at home, and just do its job. If the heart is not on fire to win, there can be no fire in the team to win. Too much intellect, too many technical considerations, too much strategy and not enough passion, too little heart, too little sacrifice and little cohesion in the team. And there are also too many analysts in the German media who always build up a powerful pressure of expectation and one-sidedly discuss only technique and strategy and do just as little for inner cohesion. Hello, these are people, if they don't really want to, they can't achieve anything. If you're not really hungry, you can't chase food.

The big and the small
The big teams like Argentina and France also show weak performances at this World Cup, fear, a cowardly too cautious game, a cramped game, suffering under the pressure of public expectations, but no free playing, no fun and no joy to be at the World Cup and suddenly smaller teams can become very big, because the supposedly small teams are also quite strong today. Whoever is not ready for 100% here will get one on the cap and especially one in the goal. And a pinch of overconfidence can also be fatal. If you start with the motto "We're world champions" and have already won, you can fall deep. They no longer take even supposedly small opponents seriously. And if you then play poorly, as Germany or Argentina did in the first game, you will be under even more pressure in the next game. Then you become anxious, insecure, the team loses itself and nothing succeeds, and if the last bit of luck is missing, then the tournament is over very quickly. Perhaps the football giant Germany also took a painful kick at this World Cup in order to attack again with an iron will to win at the next World Cup.

With their fighting spirit and their unconditional will to win, the South Koreans took the pants off the Germans at the World Cup.
