Elan Amphibio - new with 4D technology
Elan's successful Amphibio line, which was first launched in winter 2011/12, has undergone further development for the new winter season, both in terms of design and technology. In terms of design, the surface structure has been changed and a little more calm has returned; the skis look a bit more dignified. On the other hand, Elan is launching the "4D" technology, which on the one hand means the previous Amphibio rocker concept with the inner edge with pretension (1) for firm edge grip and with the rockered outer edge with rocker (2) for easier turn initiation and on the other hand, and this is new, the "Dual Shaped TI" technology with an outward, i.e. convex (3), curved titanium insert in front of the binding for precise turn initiation, and an inward, i.e. concave (4), curved titanium insert behind the binding for harmonious turn initiation. All in all, even more dignified, even more precise, even easier to ride.

Amphibio
Elan is the only major ski manufacturer to use an asymmetrical rocker. The outer edges of the ski are rockered or slightly more curved at both ski ends, while the inner edges have a classic preload or no rocker. The inside edge provides maximum edge grip, while the outside edge facilitates turn initiation.
Waveflex
The "Waveflex" concept developed by Elan is a wave-shaped top layer that simultaneously ensures that the flex remains soft on the one hand, but the torsional or rotational stiffness of the ski remains as high as possible, which improves the performance of the ski.
Response Frame Wood Core
The Response Frame wood core is a unique and innovative tip-to-tail laminated wood core, for direct power transmission and optimal torsional stability, thanks to the combination of a hardwood frame with a softer wood core.
Power wood core
The sandwich construction Amphibio ski models have different wood cores. The "Power" wood core consists of laminated wood rods combined with a synthetic core. This increases the torsional stiffness and the recovery behavior.
Dual TI
A titanium layer is inserted above and below the wood core for reinforcement. This makes the ski stiffer and better edge control and power transmission are the result.
XTI
This is a special lightweight construction for wide performance skis. A titanium insert increases edge control, elongated carbon fibers provide increased reaction speed.
Mono TI
A titanium insert over the wood core increases torsional stiffness and reaction speed.
RST
Vertical sidewalls that provide optimal edge grip and transfer power directly to the edges.
