Ted Ligety is one of the most successful American ski racers. At the age of 21, he was the youngest American ski racer to win the gold medal at the 2006 Sestriere Olympics in the combined event. 8 years later, he repeated this success at the 2014 Olympics in Sochi, Russia, in the giant slalom discipline. His incredible career lasted from 2004 to 2021, during the peak of which, between 2006 and 2016, he claimed 25 World Cup victories, 52 podium finishes in World Cup races, 2 Olympic gold medals and 7 medals, 5 of them gold, in World Championships. He was one of the most reliable success riders of the American team.
