Silvan Dillier: The young talent has become a professional cyclist

When we last reported on Silvan Dillier, he was still riding for the EKZ Racing Team and dreaming of a life as a professional. Now the dream has come true: Since 2014, he has been officially riding as a BMC Racing Team rider. His long list of successes promises much for the future. Even if he is still cautious, the first successes have come.

It was not so long ago that we created a portrait of the successful Aargau cyclist. In our summer 2012 issue, we headlined the portrait of Silvan Dillier with the words "On the road to victory". At that time, we concluded that he was a "great Swiss cycling hope" and we recognized in him "the potential for an exemplary cycling career". His numerous successes were impressive and made us sit up and take notice: 2006 Swiss Junior Road Champion, 2008 Swiss Track Individual Time Trial Champion U19, 2009 Swiss U23 Road Champion, 2010 Swiss U23 Individual Time Trial Champion, 2011 U23 European Madison Track Champion, Vice European Champion in the points race and bronze medal in the team pursuit, Swiss Vice Champion U23 Road Champion, Swiss U23 Individual Time Trial Champion, to name just the most important highlights. As if on a string, his successes continued. At the 2012 European U23 Championships on the track, he took the title in the Madison and the individual pursuit and the runner-up title in the team pursuit. At the Swiss level, he won the title on the road and in the time trial, among others. No wonder he is now a member of the national squad. It is clear that such a successful young racing cyclist also attracts the attention of the junior managers of large international teams...
