Even with the start of the 5th matchday of Euro 2024, it turns out what was to be expected. The big ones dominate the small ones. The big teams like France or England don't give small teams a chance in the qualifiers for the 2024 European Football Championship.
Nothing else was actually to be expected. Established top teams in the football battle of nations will certainly qualify for the 2024 European Football Championship. And yet there are small surprises. For example, the small but defensible Scotland is ahead of the great football country Spain in the Group A table. In Group C, too, one has to wonder whether Italy, currently in 3rd position in the table behind Ukraine, will manage to move up to 2nd place to qualify for sure. Austria is also in first place in Group F ahead of big Belgium, but Belgium still has one game to go and could easily turn that around. I wonder if the once strong Sweden can still get in on the action here. It's also a little surprising that Finland is in first place in Group H, ahead of the strong Danes and Slovenians, but that's the spice of an exciting qualification. Tomorrow, Sunday, the 5th matchday will be played, but there are just so many more matchdays to come. A lot can still happen. Stay tuned!
