Thomas Pidcock is a young cycling talent from Great Britain. In the recent past, he has attracted attention with extraordinary successes, especially in the disciplines of cyclocross and mountain bike cross-country (XCO). In the 2016/17 season, he won just the junior world title in cyclo-cross. Cyclo-cross is his regular discipline, which he started with. His successes there have motivated him to move on to other disciplines where he is also successful. As a current Olympic champion in MTB cross-country (Olympics 2020, held in 2021 - postponed to 2021 because of the Corona pandemic) and a regular winner in the World Cup, he has made a good name for himself. But he also shows ambition on the road. He just won the Strade Bianche road race in April 2023. This man has what it takes to be a real champion. In road races, he proves strong in mountain stages and in one-day races. But doesn't he get bogged down with three disciplines? He can never take part in all the World Cup races in mountain biking if he wants to keep an eye on the road as well. Will he concentrate more on one discipline in the future or will he continue to ride three-track? His chances of celebrating enormous successes in mountain biking are at a maximum, because when he competes he usually wins, but he has his sights set on races like the Tour de France on the road, in which he will also compete this year. What will he choose?
