Elan Spectrum

Elan Spectrum - aluminum or not aluminum, that is the question here

Elan is well positioned in the market with six attractive freeride models. In three models of them can be found the ALUblade technology, an aluminum layer provides improved edge grip on the inside and more turning on the outside. Diamond tips split the snow cleanly and facilitate dipping and positioning in deep snow. The Spectrum models also feature Elan's signature Amphibio Rocker for improved maneuverability in deep snow.

ALUblade

ALUblade technology is an aluminum insert on the inside of the ski, which lies above the wood core. Better edge grip, greater stability and improved responsiveness are the effects of this technology.

Amphibio

Elan is the only major ski manufacturer to use an asymmetrical rocker. The outer edges of the ski are rockered or slightly more curved at both ski ends, while the inner edges have a classic preload or no rocker. The inside edge provides maximum edge grip, while the outside edge facilitates turn initiation.

Laminated wood core

This wood core extends from the tip to the tail of the ski and is designed for each model and length. Different types of wood in various combinations allow individual adjustments to the needs of each model. The stable wood core transfers power very directly to the edge.

Power wood core

The sandwich construction ski models have different wood cores. The "Power" wood core consists of laminated wood rods combined with a synthetic core. This increases the torsional stiffness and the recovery behavior.

Diamond Tip & Tail

Both ski ends are raised on Spectrum models to allow floatation. The tip (tip) is fine and cuts through the snow like an arrow, the ski end (tail) a little wider, but created to achieve an optimal position in deep snow.

SST sidewalls

Beveled sidewalls are optimal for a durable ski without making it unnecessarily heavy or stiff.

PST

This is a cap construction for greater lightness combined with a sidewall for maximum edge grip.

Fiberglass

Fiberglass optimizes the properties of the ski and provides a harmonious flex and good torsional stiffness.
