The "red heart" (Cuorerosso) is the new concept vehicle from Alfa Romeo, currently on display at the Paris Motor Show (October 12–18, 2026). The model’s design, paintwork, and interior are captivating. It is a groundbreaking concept—a sports car designed not just for those who love sharp corners.
Let’s get straight to the point: the design of the new “Cuorerosso” is unique—truly captivating. This is exactly how a sports car should look! It is an Alfa Romeo in the superlative sense, which is precisely why it has captured the interest of millions. Yet, the concept is neither a precursor to a production vehicle nor merely a design study; rather, the new Cuorerosso is intended to serve as a source of design inspiration for future models. Now that’s something to take note of!
The designers initially developed the concept from a single block—lacking wheels, glazing, light signatures, or other such details—much like a sculpture. The result was a monolithic form with surfaces that appear to flow into one another, reminiscent of liquid metal. This guides the eye along the entire length of the bodywork. Even when standing still, the Cuorerosso conveys a sense of movement and dynamism.
At Alfa Romeo, red represents passion and performance. The unique paint finish, known as "Liquid Ink Red," is a spectacle in itself; depending on how the light hits it, the color shifts between the glow of molten lava and the darkness of the night—mysterious and evocative. This persistent, fiery red theme continues inside, where the color dominates, culminating in a vibrant red display within the cockpit. This Alfa Romeo burns with the fire of passion and unbridled power. Access to the interior is provided by modern portal-style doors, which ensure effortless entry. The dashboard draws inspiration from the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale—a supercar that traces its lineage back to the original model of the same name from the 1960s.
It is too early to discuss performance—after all, the Cuorerosso is merely a concept—but Alfa has indicated that a potential production version could feature a 2.9-liter V6 full-hybrid powertrain, the Q4 all-wheel-drive system, a torque converter, and a carbon-fiber driveshaft. Its current dimensions are: 4,700 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width, and just 1,331 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm and a weight of 1,750 kg. The uncompromising focus on performance is also reflected in the technical components, which include an air suspension system and a ceramic braking system from racing specialist Brembo®.
Santo Ficili, CEO of Alfa Romeo and Maserati, enthuses: “Alfa Romeo has always created vehicles that do more than just move people—they evoke deep emotions. It is this connection between human and machine, rooted in a unique culture of Italian style, sportiness, and passion, that makes every one of our models unmistakably an Alfa Romeo. With the Cuorerosso concept vehicle, we are carrying this identity into the future—a future that embraces a variety of powertrain solutions, and where technology, functionality, and quality are always in the service of emotion and driving pleasure. This is our vision of *bellezza necessaria* [essential beauty]: to develop vehicles designed for those who love driving sporty cars—vehicles that are contemporary, yet possess the potential to become icons.”
With its new concept vehicle, Alfa Romeo has surpassed itself. In terms of elegance, sportiness, and flair, the Cuorerosso is hard to beat; furthermore, its integration of new technologies and a modern, tasteful interior design leaves virtually nothing to be desired—much like a regal Rolls-Royce tailored for sports car enthusiasts. Elegant, spirited, Cuorerosso.
