Walloon Arrow 2015: Valverde takes the third victory

Spanish professional cyclist Alejandro Valverde, who pedals for the Movistar team and was ranked No. 1 in the 2014 WorldTour rankings, takes victory in the Walloon Arrow (La Fléche Wallone), the spring classic in Belgium, for the third time this spring after 2006 and 2014. With a perfect final sprint shortly before the finish, he left second-placed Frenchman Julian Alaphilippe and third-placed Swiss Michael Albasini behind.

"With 200 meters to go, I knew I was going to win because I felt I had a little more to go like my competitors"

Valverde said after the race. "It was a very hard day with many crashes and a lot of tension, I can't remember such an exhausting day for a long time," he continued.
