Veloplus opens branch in Steinhausen

Bike specialist Veloplus with 10 branches in Switzerland takes over the traditional bike store A.Rüegg in Steinhausen from 1.01.2022, opening its first branch in the canton of Zug.

Veloplus will take over the bicycle store A. Rüegg in Steinhausen ZG as of January 1, 2022. The family business with its more than 100-year history has thus successfully completed its search for a successor. Part of the well-established and competent Rüegg team of bicycle mechanics and sales consultants will remain with the customers in the new Veloplus store.

For the third-generation owner family, it was clear that the location at Bahnhofsstrasse 38 must remain a specialist bicycle store. Marlise Inderbitzin says: "This was the basis for us. After the long family history, the bicycle must live on at this location." Her brother Toni Rüegg adds: "I am pleased that not only the location but also the well-established team of mechanics will continue to work and that I myself can continue to contribute to the workshop team."

Customers in Steinhausen will soon be able to experience a completely new Veloplus world.

To make the store more attractive, Veloplus has a lot planned. The store space will be doubled and completely rebuilt. The reopening is planned for spring 2022. A new, spacious Velowelt with regional appeal and new services will be created. Additional employees are still being sought for this.

In addition to the existing strength of Rüegg AG, bicycles, e-bikes and the bicycle workshop, Veloplus additionally brings a rich assortment of bicycle accessories, technology and clothing as well as the well-known testing possibilities to Steinhausen. Other services such as ergonomics analyses, courses, travel lectures and a customer workshop offer cyclists new opportunities in the region.

"We are very excited to take over the legacy of the Rüegg family and look forward to the new region with many enthusiastic cyclists," says Veloplus Managing Director Dominique Metz. The entire Veloplus team welcomes the new location with the existing employees and customers and is looking forward to the upcoming project.
