The Americans are currently entering the race with two different models. The policy seems really intelligent. With both you get a lot of quality for the money, but if you let up on the price of one, then all the more clearly for it. The Trek Farley 6 offers a surprising amount of quality despite a comparably low price, especially the use of the rigid fork helps to push the price down here. The Farley 8, on the other hand, offers fork - i.e. front wheel - comfort and almost excellent components, only the frame is aluminum. In both models, the relatively narrow tires also help save some little weight. Trek is clearly in front, both in quality and weight and the price-performance ratio. The Americans can be recommended with a clear conscience.
