Top scorer Garrett Roe joins the ZSC Lions

American center Garrett Roe joins ZSC Lions from Zug
The ZSC Lions are pleased to announce the signing of American center Garrett Roe. The 31-year-old receives a two-year contract with the city club.

Garrett Roe joins the Lions from EV Zug, his first stop in Switzerland. For Zug, the seventh-round draft pick from 2008 scored 100 scorer points (30 goals and 70 assists) in 93 games. With the EVZ, Roe won the Cup this year and was runner-up in the Swiss championship as the playoff top scorer.

"Garrett Roe is one of the best playmakers in Switzerland, who has always proven his productivity at all clubs"

Says sports chief Sven Leuenberger. "He will bring passion and energy
into the ZSC Lions' game."

After several seasons for St. Cloud State University and two AHL seasons for the Adirondack Phantoms, Roe moved to Europe in 2013. This was followed by one season each in Salzburg (58 scorer points) and Munich (51 scorer points) and two in Linköping, Sweden (80 scorer points) before the American signed in Zug. With the USA, Garrett Roe played in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. The left-hander played in all five games and scored two points.
