Swiss Snowsports elects new president and board of directors

Zermatt, 29 September 2018 - Delegates Assembly Swiss Snowsports

The long-time president Karl Eggen was bid farewell by the members with great thanks for his work. Jürg Friedli now leads the Swiss Snowsports association with around 14,000 members together with a board of directors that is also partly new.

Jürg Friedli, a lawyer and snowsport instructor from Thun, was elected unanimously and with applause as the new president of the umbrella organization of Swiss ski schools and snowsport instructors at the 17th delegates' meeting. The 48-year-old replaces the long-standing president Karl Eggen.

Karl Eggen, as outgoing president, looks confidently to the future at his last delegates' meeting. In a constantly changing environment, the new generation will certainly work out the best future perspectives in a solution-oriented manner. "When I look into the future, I trust in the young generation of well-trained snowsport instructors and school directors. They are all ready to give their best for Swiss tourism, snow sports and for the guests, to pass on the joy of snow sports and to give the guests unforgettable moments in the mountains."

In the context of the ordinary delegates' meeting, the overall renewal elections of the Board of Directors also took place.
