Swiss Sailing Super League starts on Lake Maggiore

On May 18-19, 2019, the season for the 12 best sailing club teams in Switzerland will begin with the start of the Swiss Sailing Super League. It can be assumed that from the first race onwards, every ranking will be fought for with the utmost commitment, as everyone wants to finally snatch the crown away from the previous and long-time title holder RCB Regattaclub Bodensee in 2019. But the RCB has other plans, President Julian Flessati: "We have sailed some training sessions in the winter with different teams. In addition, we always train in the run-up to an event. Of course it would be nice to defend the title again. I think you always go into the competitions with the hope of defending the title. We have set ourselves the goal of a top 3 finish. As in the previous year, the RCO, SNG and SVK will certainly provide very good teams again. But in general the level is very high, so probably all Super League teams can win. CNV Versoix became stronger and stronger last year and is my secret favorite. You can't forget the up-and-comers either."

It is expected that the five clubs representing Switzerland at the Sailing Champions League - the best sailing clubs from 21 nations compete against each other in four competitions - in 2019 at least in the qualification and hopefully also in the final in St. Moritz (SNG, RCO, RCB, CNV, SVK) will also occupy the top ranks in the Super League this year.

The organizing clubs of the event, Yacht Club Locarno (YCLO) and Friends of Sailing Brissago (FSB) have chosen as venue the Yachtsport Resort Brissago, where the whole event will take place. At this ideal location, crew changes will be made directly from the resort - with the expected thermal southerly wind, the regatta field should be moored just off Brissago. It is still too early for reliable wind forecasts for the regatta days. To allow for a maximum number of races, the latest generation of robobuoys will also be used.

As always, the regattas can be followed via live tracking on your smartphone and on the Internet. Current results will be posted online on an ongoing basis. All info always on the event website: https://swiss-sailing-league.ch/regattadaten-2019/brissago-2/ and on Facebook, Instragram and Twitter: Swiss Sailing League.
