Storck Bicycle opens flagship store in Wertheim, Germany

On July 4, 2020, Storck will open a new Storck Store in Wertheim Almosenberg together with Wertheim's mayor Wolfgang Stein and Stadtwerke Wertheim, represented by Michael Berthold. This is already the 17th Storck Concept Store worldwide.

The Storck Store Wertheim is located on the A3 in the direct vicinity of Wertheim Village and thus fits in perfectly with the neighboring brands. The industrial park near Würzburg, which has around 2.8 million visitors a year, is a good place to go for those from Frankfurt or the Aschaffenburg area.

The opening follows a cooperation between Storck and Stadtwerke Wertheim, under the name "E-Provider". The Stadtwerke's electricity customers can choose one of eight Storck e-bikes and pay a monthly leasing fee for the bikes starting at 79 euros. All bikes are powered by "Main-Tauber-E-Bike-Strom" and combine Storck's experience in bike development with state-of-the-art e-motor technology.

In the modern and stylish store, which extends over two floors on a floating platform on almost 500 m² of sales area, customers can experience the full Storck product range in an attractive ambience, including competent advice. Technical specifications in the course of the highest individuality, which make the product tangible in the store, or the in-house coffee bar invite you to visit the store or a meeting place for upcoming trips.

The innovative KfW 55 timber frame building was designed by Reo Severain of the architectural firm Severain Architekten and features numerous state-of-the-art technologies, including an air-source heat pump for heating and cooling and two electric vehicle charging stations. Severain also designed the Storck headquarters in Idstein in 2008. The 43-meter-long building in Wertheim, which rises 27.5 meters from the hillside, was realized in cooperation with Sonnleitner Holzbauwerke, which has a site in the immediate vicinity. With 225 m3 of wood used, it was deliberately designed to be particularly sustainable.

This unique Wertheim store, with an investment volume of 3 million euros, will be managed by Kai Hundertmarck. As a long-time Storck employee, he will devote himself to this new and exciting task:

"I'm excited about being able to convey the emotion behind our bikes to customers and guests in our most beautiful store."

In addition to Hundertmarck's expertise as an international sales manager, customers can also rely on his many years of experience as a professional cyclist and triathlete.

Markus Storck, General Manager of Storck Bicycle, is enthusiastic:

"With the opening of the Wertheim store, we are implementing our concept store philosophy in the best possible way. Following the conversion of the sales model to "direct to consumer", the new store enables us to consistently pursue our goal of providing high-quality advice and the attractive presentation of our products in line with the Business 4.0 strategy. In combination with our online store, we offer our customers a unique shopping experience in our Storck world."

The first Storck store was opened in Seoul, South Korea, back in 2008. Further stores and studios followed, e.g. in Idstein, Heitersheim, Düsseldorf, Switzerland, Thailand, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines and others.
