Ski test of the Dynastar Master SL 2020/21

In glorious weather on the Lenzerheider Rothorn, I was able to test the new Dynastar Master SL on Tuesday. The new race line from Dynastar of the coming winter 2020/2021 already convinces visually with its fantastic light blue shovel, but I finally wanted to know what is hidden behind the facade: A 100%iger race ski with the genes of an FIS ski, without being so biting and therefore also 100% fun.

Every skier is a different type of skier, each one consciously or unconsciously has his or her preference, one likes to ski quietly and slowly, for another it can't be fast enough, yet another likes to swing short, and yet another loves to carve across the entire width of the slope. Because that's the way it is, and it's also true for every tester, a test verdict is always something subjective. The better a ski suits the skier, the more enthusiastic he is about it.

To make a long story short, the new Master SL from Dynastar anno 2020/21 has convinced me 100%ig. There is nothing wrong with this ski, everything is just perfect. I do not know what could be improved on this model. I tested the slalom racing ski in the length 163 cm. Anyone who wants to playfully pull short turns through the slopes or racy carving will be very satisfied here. As soon as you shift the weight, it pulls nicely into the turn, and it all seems to go without effort, playfully easy. Push the edge into the snow and it pulls off and is ready to go any speed with you without a wobble, as if you had a tank under your skis. In addition, it glides playfully and elegantly over soft passages. This is where a very pleasant characteristic of the "Master" becomes apparent. Unlike the pure "FIS" models, the edges are not so biting, which is why you don't run the risk of getting stuck and making an involuntary stop, like a ship running aground, on passages where a lot of snow has accumulated, where there are tracks or the snow is even wet. Nevertheless, it shows itself safe, grippy and stable on icy and very hard passages. For sporty drivers, slalom fans and friends of sporty carving on any slope, the Dynastar Master SL is made.

Certainly, for those who want to race and cross ice surfaces at high speed, a FIS model is more suitable. However, one must not forget that such drivers also really have to meet driving requirements and should be physically top fit. Even with the Master SL, you feel your legs faster than you think. The ski is so much fun that you don't even realize how much you're putting your body under strain until you suddenly notice your legs starting to burn on the way down. Don't worry, the ski isn't just for high-performance athletes, not at all. He is so tolerant that he can also use riders who are not every day in the gym and train like crazy.

The Dynastar Master SL is an extremely versatile ski, which is aimed at all those who like to cruise down the slopes, whether sporty, whether carving, whether swinging. But it always carries the driver safely home. The fun with the visually successful model is practically guaranteed. Congratulations to the Dynastar development team: they have created a ski that I wish I had as a skier.
