Ridley Noah Fast: For drivers who want to get to the top

Developing an aero bike requires the developers to work meticulously on the smallest details. Making the new aero bike even more streamlined than the existing one or that of the competition is a real art. Above all, it is a matter of reducing air turbulence to a minimum and optimizing the airflow around the bike as well as around the rider. In the case of the new Ridley, the makers of the new Noah Fast Disc have not only taken care to make the bike as aerodynamic as possible, but also to make the bike fit the rider as perfectly as possible.

Ultimate aerodynamics
A sticking point in the aerodynamics of a road bike is always the area around the handlebars, the stem and the cables that you try to integrate into the frame. You wouldn't guess how fine the differences can be that ultimately decide a few percent more in aerodynamics. This is engineering in action.

The transitions between frame, fork and stem with handlebars fit together almost seamlessly in the new Ridley Noah Fast Disc. Disturbing cables have been fully integrated into the frame. Even the thru axles sit almost seamlessly at the dropouts of the fork. At this point, there is also a unique feature à la Ridley. If you look closely, you will discover that the dropouts of the fork have a special shape that looks like an "F" that is upside down. Ridley calls this concept "F-Wings", which is intended to reduce air turbulence created by the rotation of the wheel hub. The stem can be customized to fit the rider with so-called "spacers", which come in different heights of 3 mm, 5 mm and 10 mm. The clamping of the aero seatpost is also integrated on the underside of the top tube. Where possible frictional resistance could occur or occurred, these were eliminated as far as technically possible. The result is an almost seamless bike almost without friction points with the air. Another highlight is the F-Surface technology: This is a structured surface at key points of the frame similar to the dents of a golf ball to reduce air resistance. The dimples create low turbulence, which ensures that the airflow better follows the shape of the tube, reducing overall drag.

With or without disc brake
In addition to the aerodynamic improvements, the stiffness of the bottom bracket and the head tube has been increased. The lowered seat stays also provide better directional stability and even more comfort. The comfort was additionally increased by a new and thinner seatpost. The aero supports are namely usually too stiff.

The Noah Fast from Ridley is currently available with and without disc brake. The model with rim brake is thanks to the numerous optimizations 250 grams lighter than its predecessor and is under the 7-kilo limit. Due to the heavier shifting group, brakes and wheels, the model with disc brake (Disc) is about 500 grams heavier than the model with rim brake. In particular, the model with disc brake offers optimal braking performance in all weather conditions. Overall, the aerodynamics of the aero racer have been noticeably improved, the overall weight significantly reduced and the comfort increased.
